Meet the team

Jozlin Pettit
In addition to being a hypnotist, Jozlin is a mother, wife, grandmother, writer, singer, painter, speaker, teacher, lover of outdoors, and more. She wrote her first book, "Wade into Grace" out of a desire to put to words techniques she used to help herself find opportunities to grow from conflict.
Jozlin comes from a technology background, starting as desktop support tech working her way up to Director of Communications and Technology. While she enjoyed her work, ultimately, she left the security of a technology career to seek a career that connected more with her purpose.
From there she found herself working at a treatment center for people with addiction and mental health disorders, serving in various positions and teaching groups. During that time, Jozlin began formally studying hypnosis and was quickly asked to bring hypnosis to the treatment center. She designed hypnosis sessions for groups and individuals, working with clinical staff to help patients meet their recovery goals.
When asked, Jozlin will say her purpose in life is to help others heal the way they relate to themselves, others, and their higher power (whatever that means to each person) so that they can become and love their most authentic, true selves. "The goal is to be able to be present in the moment without things like the past, fears, or anxieties taking over. All while having faith that you are enough to handle what you are doing."
In March of 2023, Jozlin left her job at the treatment center and started Hypno Nerd. Jozlin works privately with clients in person and online. She is working to develop hypnosis programs that are affordable, easily accessed by phone, and help to support individual healing and growth. She is also working on her first novel, a book set in East Texas that deals with complex grief, loss, adventure, magic, and personal growth.
When Jozlin isn’t working with clients or working on her next book, she can be found with her wife (usually out on an adventure of some kind), spending time with her kids and grandkids, curled up with a good book and some tea, out on the water, or camping with her friends.

"Kells" Pettit
Kells, pronounces like bells, but with a K, was born in East Texas, left for a while, but found herself back here. She is a Veteran, a firefighter, an EMT, has worked in wildland rescue as well as tight quarter rescue, and has volunteered for Team Rubicon during various disasters. She is currently studying to become a Paramedic.
While not a hypnotist, Kells is an important part of Hypno Nerd. Without her support and behind the scenes work, this business would not exist.
